BEREA LADIES MOVE INTO THIRD PLACE, TARGET TOP FINISH

Berea — Berea Ladies Football Club (FC) has secured third position at the close of the first leg of the season, marking a notable improvement from last year’s performance, when the team ranked sixth at the same stage.

The club’s founder and chairperson, Mr Lekhooa Thabaneng, commended the team’s progress, describing the current standing as a positive sign of growth and determination.

He noted that although Berea Ladies ultimately finished third at the end of last season, the team is now setting its sights on claiming the top position.

“We aim to reach number one at the end of the season, especially considering that we secured third position in the previous campaign,” he said.

Mr. Thabaneng further explained that the club struggles with player availability, as some attend school outside Berea and others work far from the district, making five players unavailable for the second leg.

In response, the club has reinforced its team by recruiting four players from other teams and promoting one player from the Berea Ladies FC development.

According to Mr. Thabaneng, the new players were selected to cover different positions, thereby strengthening the team’s overall performance in the upcoming fixtures.

The second leg of the season is scheduled to commence on February 8, with Berea Ladies set to open their campaign against Lesotho Defense Force (LDF) Ladies FC.
