Africa-Press – Lesotho. FNB Lesotho and Mamoth will co-sponsor the 4th Edition of the Maseru Urban City Marathon to the tune of M50 000. The marathon in celebration of Lesotho’s independence is scheduled for October 5 and will run from Maseru Club which is both the starting and the finishing point.
The Maseru City Urban Road Challenge is the annual road race held in the capital city Lesotho yearly to celebrate Lesotho’s independence observed on October 04.
FNB Marketing Manager Lebohang Setlalekgosi, the bank decided to sponsor the marathon to show support for the sport which she explained ‘is not being given a fair chance’.
Botha Tiheli, the Business Development Manager at Mamoth indicated that Mamoth is a medical aid company that that supports good health. “This marathon is very relevant to what we do. So we decided to take part,” he said.
Sejanamane Maphathe, representative from LAAA said mentioned that they are excited that the city of Maseru finally has an annual marathon of its own like other big cities in the world. All finishers receive medals and commemorative T-shirts.
