Africa-Press – Lesotho. Tau Bohloko has recently developed a software to help small to medium business owners to manage and grow their businesses. This system was set up in December 2020 whereby coding and unit testing were completed in March
this year and it is expected to be launched on May 29, it is currently at its pilot stage. Bohloko explained that the idea grew from realizing the struggle that small business owners
go through with their financial records as some even use an exercise book to record their orders, bookings and payments which creates inconvenience if the
book is misplaced. He said manual bookkeeping is a challenge because when they need to figure out how much profit they have made in a certain period of time, they seldom
lose the record. “In a book the information is scattered all over the pages as raw data which needs to be gathered processed and analyzed,” he said. “Then
I thought to myself, I need to develop a system that will solve problems faced by small business owners who do not have the right tools to manage and grow
their businesses, it could even help to improve our country’s economy when small businesses grow, Bohloko revealed. He says that was enough motivation to
have him roll up his sleeves and get it done. The software allows business owners to register their businesses online. “Registration details will undergo
scrutiny to ensure that the owner of the business is identifiable to avoid scammers. If all the information provided is legit, the business will be approved
and upon approval, the business owner will add products and services that the business offers,” he said and added that once the system has completed full
registration, the domain name will be siliconmarkets. com. He said the information will appear on the landing page where potential customers can place online orders and online bookings, make payments directly to the
business owner’s account either via Mpesa, EcoCash, E-wallet and bank transfers, then upload proof of payment. The business owner will get a system notification
that an order or a booking has been made. They will then go check the details of the order or booking, verify payments and process the order, or accept a
booking and schedule it. He further said business owners can also record expenses. He added that the system provides sales reports, expenses reports, best-selling items reports and these
reports can be downloaded as Portable Document Format (PDF). Bohloko indicated that customers on the other side can track and view status of their orders,
check if their orders have been processed, view the set date for delivery or collection. “We offer gifts in a form of airtime or electricity voucher to people who visit our site.
You can bump into such a gift as you scroll through the list of available products and services in our system. If you are the first one to see it, you will be able to acquire it
using the ‘acquire’ button,” he said. Bohloko highlighted that the system is going to be beneficial to business owners because it is a portable, convenient and reliable business management tool.
“It secures cloud data storage and has free advertisement. It offers 24 hours
online client services and customers can place bookings anytime of the day and it also offers accurate financial records”. He acknowledged the response thus far and pointed out that business owners are excited about it and are looking forward to its launch.
