Bokamoso, MoET launch Ten-ten promotion

Africa-Press – Lesotho. Bokamoso MMS Joint Venture (JV) Company has partnered with the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) to launch ten-ten “Mashome-shome” promotion intended to support

Junior Certificate (JC) students to continue with their studies. Speaking at a media briefing held at the MoET premises on Tuesday, MoET Principal Secretary (PS) Dr.

Lira Khama said the purpose of the event was to announce the matrimony between Bokamoso MMS JV and the MoET as a means to support students who wrote their JC examinations.

Bokamoso MMS JV Director Mathealira Seholoholo indicated that the company is currently on its 4th year of establishment and its main mandate is to improve

and develop sports and also bring oneness to Basotho people. He said the company has, in the past 3 years, worked with Econet Telecom Lesotho (ETL) to

develop sports and also assisted ETL to gain its brand exposure in football sport nationally. “When Covid-19 pandemic emerged in the country, the company came up with an idea to lend a helping hand to upgrade

football sport in the country, then solidarity fund for football was established, funded by the Lesotho Football Association (LeFA). Therefore the fund hosted various

promotional activities upon realizing that the football teams are going bankrupt,” Seholoholo said. He said as the football fraternity, they want to acknowledge and celebrate JC students

in all districts across the country. “This promotion challenges every district of Lesotho to each raise M500 000 to JC students. Later, a prize will be paid to the district whose people will have

raised M500 000, whereby their top 10 students will be awarded by the MoET, these will be students who have passed with merit and first class. The students

will be awarded with a bursary of M10 000 each to complete their Form D and E,” he explained. Seholoholo showed that the Solidarity fund for football is a project aimed to also assist

3 categories of football which are Premier League, A-Division and Women Super

League. He said the categories are going to be segmented according to the Covid-19 Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) relief fund

which LeFA is already disbursing. “This project will run from now on until 2021/2022 season ends, then we will meet with LeFA to recommend a way forward,”

he stated. Lesotho Institutions Sports Association (LISA) General Secretary Posholi Posholi added that within LISA structure of administration, there is Lesotho Principals

Association (LEPSA) which as part of the administration, will assist on issues like this one in order for the promotion to extend to other clubs and reach the

whole nation. “It is our anticipation as the association that numerous community institutions will participate in this promotion, more especially students as they are a large pool,” Posholi stated.
