From bold colours and different designs to classic manicures, the nail business has become one of the most vibrant beneficiaries of the end-of-year cheer.
Speaking in an interview with the Agency on Friday, a salon owner Ms. ‘Manyakane Molibeli says December is their busiest period of the year, with bookings filling up days in advance as many clients are preparing for weddings, office parties, church services and family gatherings, making well-groomed nails an essential part of their festive look.
‘This is our peak season, and people want something special for festive season events. Some even come with pictures from social media for inspiration’, she said.
Trends this festive season include red and gold combinations, chrome finishes, French tips with a modern twist, and designs inspired by traditional Basotho patterns. Acrylic and gel nails remain popular for their durability, especially for clients travelling or attending multiple events.
