The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially confirmed that the African Play-Off Tournament for the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be staged in Rabat, Morocco, from November 13 to 16, 2025. The mini-tournament will determine which African nation earns the continent’s 10th and final World Cup slot through the FIFA Inter-Continental Play-Offs next year.
According to CAF’s statement, all matches will be hosted at the Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan Stadium, with specific fixtures and kick-off times also announced.
The competition will begin on Thursday, 13 November, with a blockbuster encounter between Nigeria and Gabon at 17:00 local time (16:00 GMT). The second semi-final will see Cameroon battle the Democratic Republic of Congo later that evening, kicking off at 19:00 GMT.
The winners of both semi-finals will face off in the Final on Sunday, 16 November 2025, at 19:00 GMT, also at the Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan Stadium.
CAF confirmed that the victorious team will go on to represent Africa in the FIFA Inter-Continental Play-Off Tournament scheduled for March 2026, where they will fight for a place at the expanded FIFA World Cup 2026.
The high-stakes play-offs promise thrilling drama, with four of Africa’s football heavyweights set to battle for one last ticket to the world’s biggest stage.
