CAF Details Group C Qualification Scenarios Before Final Day

Africa-Press – Lesotho. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released the official qualification scenarios for Group C heading into the final matchday of the FIFA 2026 World Cup African qualifiers — and it’s all to play for.

According to CAF’s guide, Benin, South Africa, and Nigeria all remain in contention for the group’s sole automatic qualification spot. Here’s how the permutations stand:

Benin will qualify for the World Cup if they win against Nigeria.

Benin could also qualify with a draw, but only if South Africa fail to win against Rwanda.

South Africa will book their World Cup ticket if they defeat Rwanda and Benin lose to Nigeria.

Nigeria can still qualify — but they must beat Benin and hope South Africa fail to win against Rwanda. In addition, the Super Eagles must win by three or more goals to overtake on goal difference.

With all three teams still alive in the race, the final day promises drama, tension, and potential heartbreak. Every goal could prove decisive as Group C heads for a thrilling conclusion.
