Africa-Press – Lesotho. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) Disciplinary Board has announced a series of sanctions against the Football Associations of Zambia, Kenya, and Morocco following incidents during the ongoing TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) PAMOJA 2024.

Zambia Fined for Media Regulations Breach

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has been fined USD 5,000 after failing to present their head coach at the mandatory Match Day-1 press conference ahead of their clash with the Democratic Republic of Congo. CAF ruled that the absence violated its Media Regulations.

Kenya Penalized for Safety and Security Failures

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) received the heaviest sanction — a USD 50,000 fine — for multiple safety and security breaches during their CHAN 2024 fixture against Morocco at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.

CAF warned that repeated failure to meet security requirements could see Kenya’s national team home matches relocated. The federation was advised to increase security staffing inside the stadium and strictly enforce road closures on match days.

Morocco Fined for Player Misconduct

The Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football (FRMF) was fined USD 5,000 for inappropriate player conduct during their match against Kenya. However, USD 2,500 of the fine is suspended, contingent on no similar infractions occurring for the remainder of CHAN 2024.

CAF stated that all fines must be paid within 60 days of the notification date.
