Africa-Press – Lesotho. Olympic champions Caster Semenya and Conseslus Kipruto are among 500 athletes from 40 nations competing at the 22nd edition of the CAA African Championships in Mauritius.

World and Olympic stars are set to illuminate the African Athletics Championships at the Cote d’Or National Sports Complex in Mauritius from June 8-12 2022.

Olympic steeplechase champion Conseslus Kipruto, double Olympic gold medallist Caster Semenya, Ferdinand Omanyala, the world leader over 100m, two-time Olympian Akani Simbine, Olympic silver medallist Julius Yego, Olympic bronze medallist Hugues Fabrice Zango, and Ese Brume, third at Tokyo 2020 in 2021, are among around 500 athletes from over 40 countries who are part of the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) event.

The Island of Mauritius, known for its white sandy beaches, is hosting the continental showpiece for the third time following the 1996 and 2006 editions.
