Africa-Press – Lesotho. Members of the Roma community have embraced the reconstruction of the A5 road from St. Michael’s to Roma and an extension leading to St. Joseph’s hospital.

Though this comes after years of using dilapidated roads they are happy as services will be easily accessed once the reconstruction is completed.

Speaking in an interview, one Mrs. ‘Mamotena Makara said they are thankful for the road to St. Joseph’s hospital saying for the longest time, the road was unbearable especially for the sick. She said once completed it will be easy for them to access health and other services.

She acknowledged that this development might have hurt others especially street vendors but said Roma as a peri urban area needs development including accessible roads.
