Concern over voter apathy as 2022 draws closer

Africa-Press – Lesotho. The Mpulule Political Summit (Sefofane) has expressed concerns over growing number of Basotho who say that they will not be participating in the next general elections.

According to Sefofane, they have discovered that a large part of the public will not be taking part in the elections because they say politicians are insincere to the public and the decisions they make do not benefit the public.

In their statement Sefofane encouraged Basotho to shake off their voter apathy, adding that democracy gives them a chance to choose a new leader that they want.

“Let us admit that we have made a mistake in past elections, we should now work towards rectifying that mistake by voting again for the next elections.
. the solution is in the hands of the voters to make change,” the statement read. They have urged all eligible voters to take responsibility towards the country`s future for coming generations.
