Africa-Press – Lesotho. Peace ambassadors (individuals and organizations) led by Development for Peace Education (DPE) handed over a petition regarding the detention of Mr. Man Hee Lee, chairman of Heavenly Culture
World, Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) in South Korea to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations Hon. Machesetsa Mofomobe on
Monday. When addressing the media Peace Education Researcher Thaabe ‘Moso indicated that it is saddening that Lee is accused of spreading Coronavirus (COVID-19) in South
Korea through his religious functions and hiding contact details of his congregants. He said their understanding of the situation is that COVID-19 is a global health crises whose spread may not
be pinned on any person and that his genuine concern for privacy and safety of his congregants may not justifiably be regarded as defeating the ends of
contact tracing. ‘Moso added that it is despicable that any government in the world, South Korea for that matter can link Lee to that inhuman idea of deliberately
exposing people to infection and refuting means to have them traced for testing and treatment. “This for peace ambassadors is a simple a ploy to discredit the
Chairman, taint his global peace efforts and attempt to disgrace him,” he perceived. He further called upon the government of South Korea to stop persecuting Chairman
Lee, free him forthwith and set him free to pursue his peace mission in South Korea and the entire world, desist from tarnishing his reputation in the face
of global citizens and respect his dignity. He denoted that DPE appeals to the government of Lesotho to use the cordial relations between Lesotho and South
Korea to impress upon the government of South Korea to stop this act which violates not only the culture of peace but most importantly the human dignity
of Lee. When receiving the petition Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations Hon. Machesetsa Mofomobe said that he will give the request to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International
Relations Hon. Matšepo Ramakoae and the appeal will be looked into by the Minister. “She is the one who will give response regarding the issues that have
been tabled in the petition,” said Mofomobe. Also, he showed that it is very crucial for the countries across the globe to have good international relations and the government of Lesotho will ensure that good relations are maintained.
