ETL hosts 2nd Golf Day to raise funds

Africa-Press – Lesotho. Econet Telecom Lesotho (ETL) on Friday held its second annual golf day which teed off with a 9-hole handicap that will end with a gala dinner at the Maseru Avani Hotel. The tournament will see 16 teams drawn from the corporate sector, having made an earlier to make the event a success.

ETL Public Relations Manager, Puleng Masoabi, said the purpose of the event is to raise additional funds towards the telecommunications company’s corporate social investment’s Higher Life Foundation which is currently funded by the company’s two percent of the annual revenue.

The local Higher Life Foundation has contributed towards education 32 students as well as the 45 000 individuals around the country – the students have graduated from local institutions and abroad.

The Foundation, through ETL, is currently providing scholarships to 364 orphans and vulnerable children and aims to provide quality education, health, girl empowerment, leadership and lifelong development and creation as well as sustainable livelihoods in the long term.
