Africa-Press – Lesotho. FIFA has confirmed that the 2025 summer transfer window set a new all-time record. With more than €3.6 billion spent, England once again dominated the market.
Liverpool, by securing Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz, and Hugo Ekitike, embodied the extravagance that shook world football.
According to the governing body, nearly 12,000 international transfers were completed in the first half of the year. Clubs spent around €9 billion in fees, an increase of more than 50% compared to 2024. England alone invested over €2.57 billion, reinforcing its status as the global powerhouse of the transfer market.
Women’s football also registered remarkable growth. More than 1,100 transfers were completed, with €10.5 million spent, a record figure that represents an 80% rise from last year. The United States stood out as the most active country, ahead of England and Germany.
