Africa-Press – Lesotho. The motorist will now have to fork deeper from their pockets as the fuel prices are set to soar effective from today. These developments were announced by the Petroleum
Fund Secretariat yesterday. Petrol 93 is set to increase by 85 lisente per litre, petrol 95 will increase by 90 lisente per litre, diesel 50 will see an
increase of 50 lisente per litre while the illuminating paraffin will see an increase of 50 lisente per litre. The adjusted fuel prices stand as follows: Petrol 93
M15.10 per litre, Petrol 95 M15.25 per litre, Diesel 50 M14.75 per litre and illuminating paraffin M10.40 per litre. This is a third consecutive increment on petroleum
products following those of June and July. “The Petroleum Fund wishes to appeal to all retailers to charge proper prices because it is illegal to charge prices that
are different from the gazetted ones,” reads the fund statement in pertinent part. It further warns that legal action taken against the retailers who will not sell at the stipulated prices. The Petroleum Fund is charged with the mandate to stabilize petroleum products prices and ensuring there is petroleum products supply in the country.
