Google introduces new update that blurs explicit photos

Africa-Press – Lesotho. Google has announced updates of new privacy tools in Google Search which allows users to blur explicit photos and remove unwanted search results hence promoting more privacy and safety online.

Individuals can access the tool in the Google app by clicking on their Google account photo and selecting ‘Results about you. ’ The new privacy tool allows users to have more control over unwanted personal images online and ensure explicit or graphic photos do not appear easily in search results.

With the new update, if an individual creates and uploads explicit content to a website that they no longer wish to be available on search, they will be able to request for its removal from the Google search.

They initially announced the safeguard in February saying it will be launched globally in August. Google suggested users contact the specific website that has posted unwanted information about themselves to request it be removed.

The forms to submit requests have also been made more simple. The new tool, which is only available in the U. S. and English for now, doesn’t delete information from the internet. It just stops the content from showing up in search results. The policy also applies to websites containing personal information.
