Africa-Press – Lesotho. Government of Lesotho through the Minister of Justice and Law Adv. Lekhetho Rakuoane has filed a petition before the Re-Election Council alleging that the council has corrected its mistakes regarding the lack of confidence in the Deputy Chairperson-Election Chairperson Ms Liteboho Kompi.
Rakuoane said the government was advising the court to review it, because it was aware that there had been some misunderstandings in the system. “This council has played a very important role in trying to make a difference, has achieved a lot, and repairs where there have been problems in the sector, and it still has a long way to go in the development of this country.
That is why we urge the government to go back and look at where the wrongs were, because it is through co-operation that our country can have peace and stability, ”Rakuoane said. After Rakuoane filed the case, members of the court commented on the matter.
King of Thaba-Bosiu King Khoabane Theko expressed surprise at the fact that Rakuoane’s case is being tested especially when there is a point in their position of the day but he appreciates it.
In the meantime the issue has caused so much controversy and misunderstanding that some members have explained and asked the minister if the government has investigated the root cause of mistrust in Kompi and what is the source.
. The Re-Election Council is the council that will lead the re-election. It is intended to reorganize the seven components namely; economics, media, business, public service, parliament, law and security.
