GOVERNMENT FORMS TASK TEAM TO ACQUIRE PROPERTY

Africa-Press – Lesotho. The Minister in the Prime Minister’s office, Mr. Limpho Tau announced a task team meant to acquire the government’s property since 1966 when Lesotho gained her independence has been formed.

He said the team is made up of 11 members drawn from the Lesotho Defence Force (LDF), Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS), Ministries of Finance and Development Planning and of Public Service, Labour and Employment.

He added that this team will give monthly feedback to the office of the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, saying they are expected to complete work within a short period of time.

“We, therefore, appeal to individuals, collective groups to assist the team with information regarding this matter so as to ease work,” he stressed. The Minister mentioned that the team will further take stock of government vehicles including identifying public waste and wastages.

He noted that all these are efforts to ensure the implementation of the Prime Minister’s 100 days plan announced during his inaugural speech in October 2022. The formation of the task team was born out of cabinet approval on December 20, 2022. The team started operating last week.
