Africa-Press – Lesotho. Prime Minister Ntsokoane Sam Matekane has pledged his unwavering support to the Cabinet under his leadership as they continue to deliver services to Basotho who voted them into power three years ago.
Mr. Matekane stated this when officially closing a three-day cabinet’s re-treat by emphasising the significance of unity against all odds, adding that when looking back at what the current cabinet has achieved, he is running out of words of appreciation, and asserted that the last remaining years he expects them to work even harder, and turn a blind eye on the negative statements facing them.
On the other hand, Deputy Prime Minister Justice Nthomeng Majara appreciated Ministers for their dedication, patience and humility, by noting that as the head of the business of the government she could not have wished for a better Cabinet to lead, and urged them to maintain that united spirit as there will always be disagreements, and concluded by acknowledging the Minister Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation Ms. Nthati Moorosi for facilitating the intensive programme, which she also assisted in moulding.
On behalf of the Ministers, the Minister of Health Mr. Selibe Mochoboroane conveyed his counterparts gratitude to the Prime Minister for bringing them together and introspect then map out the way forward, noting that Ministers have clearly heard when the Prime Minister talked about policy direction, and they are ready to run with the baton.
Mr. Mochoboroane further appreciated PM for restoring the dignity which comes with being a public servant and a Minister, noting before he could be one, he would admire the good behaviour and exceptional performance by others who came before him, however acknowledged that there was also a time when Basotho nearly lost hope and respect in the manner in which some Ministers conducted themselves and render services in their respective offices.
He further sang Prime Minister’s praises for maintaining unity amongst them, even though they come from various political parties, adding that Basotho could also attest that in the three years there has never been a single Minister who was ever heard on radio bad mouthing another.
The last day of the re-treat has been graced by the presence of the Christian Council of Lesotho (CCL) members at the district level, District Administrator Ms. Moleboheng Lebele and Chieftainess Mats’enolo Theko Letsie Bereng.
