Africa-Press – Lesotho. At least 25 000 jobs are expected to be created by 2028 through the Inclusive Growth Facility (IFG) which was launched by the Prime Minister Mr. Ntsokoane Matekane last week Friday.

This was said by the Minister of Finance and Development planning during a press conference held in Maseru on Wednesday with which the terms of access for the IGF scheme were unpacked.

In her remarks, Dr. Rets’elisitsoe Matlanyane mentioned that the scheme is eligible for existing and new small, medium and micro enterprises as the funding is available in terms of start up financing, expansion as well as exporting funding.

Dr. Matlanyane added that the enterprises are however expected to go through incubation processes with financial institutions such as CAFI, BEDCO as well as LNDC which will help them with professional business proposals adding that existing businesses can approach the banks without going through incubation.

On the other hand, the Minister of Trade, Industry and Business Development, Mr. Mokhethi Shelile urged enterprises to take advantage of this opportunity as the turnover time for the loans is at least 7 days.

He stated that each enterprise is expected to get at least M2 million which can be used for purchase of machinery, start up or expansion.

The Inclusive Growth Facility (IGF) is funded by the government of Lesotho M400 million.
