Africa-Press – Lesotho. As part of efforts to help the needy when winter is just around the corner, KEMNET Networks Lesotho in collaboration with Sky Alpha will give out clothes to vulnerable children in the country.
KEMNET is a communications network which seeks to improve the life the African child and Africa as a whole. Every year the organisation donates clothes to the poor towards winter.
Leoma David Monaheng, one of its founding members, said they are working with Sky Alpha Radio to assist the poor during this time. “This is one of KEMNET’s annual projects which aims to make sure poor children are warm during these cold days.
Our approach, however, is different because we want to put clothes on display and allow these kids to choose the ones they like. This grants them the chance to pick out only what they love, which removes the stigma of having a donor choose what they wear for them.
We want them to have a sense of belonging and feel privileged,” Leoma explained. He further said the initiative is open to every Mosotho who might be interested in giving to the poor, urging all people of goodwill to give out clothes or blankets for the unprivileged children aged between 10 to 17. The gifts are to be taken to Sky Alpha offices. The event is set to take place towards the end of April at Sky Alpha offices.
