Africa-Press – Lesotho. The Prime Minister (PM) Dr. Moeketsi Majoro has appointed the Lesotho Revenue Authority (LRA) Commissioner General Thabo Khasipe, as the National Emergency Command
Centre (NECC) new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). NECC was identified by the government of Lesotho in March this year as the central information operating body for coronavirus related issues following declaration of COVID-19 as anational emergency. Addressing the nation on Monday night Majoro stated that Khasipe will lead a team of government officers from different ministries yet to be elected based on skills
and expertise. He mentioned that the new NECC Ministerial Sub Committee will be led by him as PM and will be inaugurated officially, adding that the government
remains committed in tackling the spread of Covid-19. According to Majoro, Khasipe will head the NECC on a secondment term following which he will return to LRA. Majoro stated that the government of Lesotho has made great strides in the fight against Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. He stated that the new government assures the nation of its continued commitment to fulfill the previous government’s promises to provide the M800 Relieve Fund for factory workers as well as to assist vulnerable groups like street vendor, the elderly and orphans.
