Africa-Press – Lesotho. Minister of Local Government, Chieftainship, Home Affairs and Police Mr. Lebona Lephema has reaffirmed Lesotho’s commitment to the United Nations (UN) and regional conventions and protocols on eradication of statelessness and to protect the lives of refugees, stateless persons and internally displaced persons.

He was speaking at the 75th session of the Executive Committee of the High Commissioner Program (Excom).

Lephema said in an era riddled with geo-political tensions, increased migration flows, climate change, terrorism and economic disruptions, stateless persons are disproportionately affected, and continue to bear the brunt of the consequences in the midst of these challenges.
