Africa-Press – Lesotho. Over ten African countries are meeting in Beijing, China to discuss issues of Chinese Modernisation and cybersecurity.
The countries include Lesotho, Kenya, Republic of Moldova, South Africa, Zambia, South Sudan, Namibia, Nigeria, Comoros, Egypt and Ghana.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Maricus Owino Agutu, Principal Relations Officer of the Speaker of Senate in Kenya said it is easy and befitting for these countries to be gathered in Beijing for a three-week seminar as China does not engage in war with developing countries to achieve its political interests and development goals.
He recalled how wars have had severe consequences on developing countries.
He applauded the People’s Republic of China for upholding the sovereignty of developing countries by not interfering in their internal affairs.
He further observed that China is a primary trading partner to many developing countries and a major source of economic investment
