Lesotho Cricket Association receives car sponsorship

Africa-PressLesotho. Lesotho Cricket Association (LCA) yesterday received a car sponsorship from Auto Group Motor Dealer at the Lesotho Sport and Recreation Commission (LSRC) offices.

The Nissan Note worth M37, 000 was handed over to LCA by Auto Group Manager – Setsomi Mathealira, who indicated that the car should be used for the association’s operations and logistics.

“LCA had been asking for this sponsorship for quite a while now, and we decided to come to the party to give out this car

to help them perform their daily activities and events,” Mathealira said. “We would like to make a plea that this car is used only for such activities, and

nothing else. ” When accepting the vehicle sponsorship, LCA president Sebajoa Sebajoa welcomed the sponsor by expressing his gratitude, noting that the gift marked a historic era in the existence of

his association, which is preparing to launch phase 1 of establishing hubs throughout the country. “This gift comes at an opportune moment when we’ve started a model of excellence where we’re creating 5 hubs in the

districts of Leribe, Berea, Maseru and Mohale’s Hoek,” Sebajoa said, insisting that the car is going to help a lot in the monitoring and evaluation of

activities in the established hubs. “…we’ve had challenges of going outside the towns of the Mountain Kingdom, but with the existence of this present, we’re now confident and conversant that our outreach programme will be

effective and efficient. To Auto Group – our sponsor, I’d like to guarantee today at this moment that this car is going to be used for what we (in cricket)

call ‘fit for purpose’, meaning it will only be used for the purpose for which it was offered. “It is our hope that, in the future, more will come through the partnership that LCA and Auto Group are now

beginning to establish,” he added, revealing that his association is in talks with a security company for another potential sponsorship. “In a few weeks or

months, we’ll be here again celebrating another event of this magnitude with M&A Security Company. ” LSRC Chief Executive Officer Teboho Malataliana congratulated LCA for receiving the sponsorship as a result of

their dedication with or without the commission’s assistance. “We are faced with the challenge that we haven’t given subventions to any associations recently, but it’s encouraging to see LCA pushing with or without funds,”

Malataliana said, stating one of the main benefits of sponsoring sports. “We’re working with Lesotho Revenue Authority (LRA) on decreasing tax (tax rebate) for businesses such as Auto Group,” he further noted. “I would like to advise you to take care of this car – it belongs to the association, not to an individual.”
