Africa-Press – Lesotho. -Local tourist Mr Tebello Moeketsi from an outdoors activities and event company says Lesotho offers just too much for an eye but just needs to be advertised properly to attract tourists from local and outside.
He said this in an exclusive interview with the Informative Arts & Lifestyle whereby he was talking about the company’s hiking event scheduled to take place in Morija Makhoarane on Saturday.
Moeketsi says the event is meant just to explore the beauty of Lesotho and attract more Basotho to tour the country. The event he says is the first by their company and they intend to engage more people who would love to join the initiative.
Provided the event succeeds, he says they would organize more events of this nature around Lesotho and even try to attract people from outside Lesotho to visit the country to see its beauty.
For the people who would love to join, he says there is a subscription fee that will cater for their wellbeing at the event; water, braai and ambulance among other things.
Moeketsi says the hiking will start at 0700hours and take four hours covering a distance of 10km. after the hiking, he says there will be a picnic whereby the hikers will enjoy braai and network.
He says they chose Morija because it is the most nearby but also an interesting place with a lot of history. “Besides, many people know Morija Makhoarane but few have climbed the mountain. Few know that there is even a village up there,” says Moeketsi.
He suggests that it is high time Basotho visit their country often other than visiting it when they join outside companies when they come to organize hiking events or any form of outdoor events in their own country.
