The Government of Lesotho has launched an Investment Case focused on improving Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health, alongside initiatives to combat gender-based violence and child marriage. This effort, led by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Gender, Youth and Social Development, aims to strengthen health systems and promote inclusive development for all citizens.

The Government of Lesotho, through the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Gender, Youth and Social Development, in collaboration with key stakeholders officially launched the Investment case on Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, Family planning, Ending Gender-Based violence and child marriage in Maseru.
Delivering remarks on behalf of the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Gender, Youth and Social Development, Mr. Itumeleng Mosala highlighted the country’s continued commitment to advancing coordinated, impactful interventions aimed at eradicating these critical social challenges.
This milestone reflects Lesotho’s unified approach with leading civil sector organizations to strengthening health systems, protecting vulnerable populations, and promoting inclusive development for all Basotho.
Lesotho has faced significant challenges in maternal and child health, compounded by issues such as gender-based violence and child marriage. Over the years, various initiatives have been implemented to address these social challenges, but progress has been slow. The recent launch of the Investment Case marks a pivotal moment in the country’s commitment to improving health outcomes and safeguarding vulnerable populations.
