Africa-Press – Lesotho. Lesotho has once again reaffirmed its commitment to the One-China Principle, aligning itself with the global consensus established by United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2758 of 1971.
The reaffirmation was made during a reception hosted by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Maseru on Wednesday night.
The event, which commemorated over five decades since the adoption of Resolution 2758, symbolized the enduring diplomatic ties between Lesotho and China which is a relationship rooted in mutual respect, sovereignty, and shared development goals.
In his remarks, Chinese Ambassador to Lesotho, Mr. Yang Xiaokun emphasized that the 1971 resolution restored all lawful rights of the PRC at the United Nations and established it as the sole legitimate representative of China, including the Taiwan region.
