Africa-Press – Lesotho. The government of Lesotho has received M48, 439, 265.00 Million from the African Risk Capacity (ARC) Network to support vulnerable farmers who were affected by drought in the 2024/2025 agricultural season.
This was revealed by the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office Mr. Limpho Tau in the National Assembly on Monday, saying beneficiaries will be selected from all districts of the country.
Mr. Tau said of this money, 20 percent of it, which is M9, 687, 853.00 will be used to purchase local produce, M4,843,926.00 for delivery of services to farmers and the remaining M33, 907, 475. 00 will be given to 90,420 farmers or 22,605 vulnerable farming households across the country
He said beneficiaries will receive a sum of M1, 500, must be within areas where the Lesotho Vulnerability Assessment Committee (LVAC) study was conducted and had cultivated 1.3 hectares in farming.
