Africa-Press – Lesotho. Lesotho Youth Cooperative Alliance (LYCA) is gearing to host Botswana-Lesotho-Swaziland (Boleswa) Youth Cooperative Federation (BYCF) annual youth forum.
LYCA is the Lesotho youth cooperative society apex while BYCF is the mother body encompassing youth apex cooperatives from Lesotho, Botswana and eSwatini.
LYCA Secretary General, Mr Thabo Mothibeli told Informative the cooperative forum will be a week long youthful cooperative business interactions and educative activities for delegates from the three states.
He revealed there will also be guest speakers to inspire young members on how best they can prosper their business cooperatives for the better. Country apex bodies will also report on organizational progress.
Delegates are expected to visit other youth cooperatives so to get to witness how the locals engage in their cooperative businesses. There will also be sports activities.
But before the adventure, on September 26, he said BYCF board members will convey a plenary meeting in Lesotho to plan and agree on key matters of the forum.
Senior Cooperative Officer with the Small Business Development Ministry, Ms ‘Mataka Motanyana also told Informative that BYCF visitors are expected to grace Cooperative Day exhibitions to be at Mafeteng on 27 September 2018. The day’s theme is: Sustainable Societies through Cooperation, as articulated by the world apex mother body, International Cooperative Alliance.
