Lesotho to join Football for Friendship Event in Moscow

Africa-PressLesotho. This year Lesotho will have a chance to join an international team participating in the Gazprom Football for Friendship (F4F) Program, slated to take place in Russia Moscow from the 05th to the 16th June, 2018.

Gazprom is the Gas Company which has sponsored the International Children’s Programme in bringing children from all over the world together in sharing the values of Friendship, Peace and Equality.

It is the FIFA partner which its programmes are run by Football for Friendship which has now invited children all over the world and Lesotho will sent three delegates being Lesotho Football Association (Lefa) Technical Director Lehlohonolo Thotanyana.

The other two are from the Lesotho under 12 soccer development; Moroka Mzamo and Maqalika Monare. Mzamo and Maqalika will be there as participants. Monare will be taking part in football events in which these young players from different countries will be given playing roles like; goalkeeper, defender, midfielder or forward.

There will be a number of teams formed to play each other. The teams are organized using the “football for friendship” principle – athletes of different nationalities, different genders and different physical abilities will play in one team.

Age of players is 12 and each International mixed Team of Friendship will be trained by Young Coaches-football players of 14-16 from different countries.

As for Mzamo he will form part of the F4F International Children’s Press Center, consisting of young 12-year-old journalists from 211 countries and regions.

Talking to Informative Sport Thotanyana mentioned that they will jet off the country on the 7th of June. Thotanyana hopes this will be handy to Lesotho football as he believes the duo stand a high chance to learn and know how things are done in other countries. On the side of Mzamo, Thotanyana said it is a right opportunity for him to start learning Journalist at early stage.
