Africa-Press – Lesotho. The Dam Safety Supervisor of the Lesotho Highland Development Authority (LHDA) states that vandalism, drownings, and suicides at the reservoir continue to be significant challenges.

Mr. Sentle Mojela stated this while presenting their disaster management preparedness plan to the Disaster Management Team (DDMT) on Thursday.

According to Mr. Mojela, the reliability of communications and traveling during disasters such as snow also pose a great challenge.

Regarding the implementation of their Emergency Preparedness Plan (EPP), he said they will continue to hold strategic workshops between stakeholders, conduct campaigns and drills, and monitor the plan. He added that they have installed required infrastructure, such as radio towers, to ensure smooth communication.
