Africa-Press – Lesotho. Lifofane has surprised most soccer fans by winning 2-1 against Matlama in the Vodacom Premier League (VPL) at Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) yesterday. In the first few minutes at Lesotho
Defence Force (LDF) ground on Wednesday, both Lifofane and Matlama crafted connection and confidence within their individual players by making more passes
thus maintaining a balancing ball passion. However, Matlama extinguished itself that its ball possession was opposite from Lifofane by making more passes,
resulting in their confidence intensifying and eventually on the 13th minute, Matlama striker Jane Thabantšo scored the first goal of the match. Despite trailing behind, Lifofane
were never discouraged as they strained to make attacks but were unlucky. As the game progressed, Lifofane finally gained stamina. After the second half, more passes
were seen on Lifofane’s side that came from the centre to Matlama’s goal side that led to Lifofane striker Realeboha Rankhotha equalizing 1-1 for Lifofane
against Matlama. Later as the game progressed Lifofane scored another goal, making the scoreline 2-1 against Matlama, a goal that came in by a super-sub Halifele Moqokola.
In an interview with Informative sport, Lifofane Head Coach Kabelo Malapane disclosed his excitement that the game ended in their favour. He said the three points will bring the
much needed change on the log standing. “We needed the win more than Matlama to escape the relegation,” he added. However, Matlama Head Coach Mothobi Mochobi explained that they were defeated because they were not emotionally and psychologically organized for the game. “We have lost, it is the setback, so it says to us we have to work even harder,” he stated.
