Lioli High School in Teyateyaneng, Berea, has recorded a notable improvement in the 2025 Lesotho General Certificate of Secondary Education (LGCSE) results, achieving a 9.18% increase in pass rate compared to 2024.
In an interview with the Agency, the Principal, Mr. Ramonki Seisa revealed that the school obtained two A grades, 20 B grades, 70 C grades, 70 D grades, 64 E grades, 56 F grades, 34 G grades, and 26 U grades in the 2025 examinations.
He noted that this marks a significant improvement over 2024, when the school recorded 97 F grades, 112 G grades, and 136 U grades.
Highlighting the best subjects performances this year, Mr. Seisa said Sesotho achieved a 95% pass rate, up from 82% in 2024. Physical Science recorded 93.9%, a substantial increase from 54% last year, while History improved to 90.5% from 44% and English also rose to 83.7%, compared to 67% in 2024.
Mr. Seisa elaborated that the school’s aim for 2026 is to improve both the quality and quantity of results, and to at least raise the pass rate to 75%. “In 2024, the results were not good but we had four A* grades, while in 2025 we did not record any,” he said.
He further stressed that the aim this year is to strive for perfection while settling
for excellence.
Despite a smaller cohort this year, with only 49 students sitting for the LGCSE examinations compared to 94 in 2024, the results reveal a significant improvement in overall performance.
This upward trend reflects the school’s dedication to academic excellence, disciplined teaching and targeted support for learners, highlighting the impact of focused educational strategies on student achievement.
