LNIG Hollard unveils exciting product

Africa-Press – Lesotho. THE LNIG Hollard Insurance this week unveiled a new innovative product that is geared towards making women safe. The All for Her Motor Insurance product was launched in Maseru yesterday.

The Head Underwriter of LNIG Hollard Insurance, Kefuoe Ramokhele, said insurance products should not only cover insurance-related aspects “but also exist to mitigate certain aspects or challenges which are there in our societies such as drought and gender-based violence”.

Ramokhele said insurance as a business understands that “it is time to solve the societal challenges we face as Basotho”. “We have realised as LNIG Hollard that violence against women and girls had an epidemic proposition,” Ramokhele said.

“Violence against women and girls is a global pandemic,” he said. He said a recent World Bank study revealed that 35 percent of women worldwide experience or have experienced either physical or sexual violence.

In the case of Lesotho, he said, the studies reveal that one in three women experienced physical violence in their lifetime. “To tackle this challenge requires a community-based approach,” he said.

Ramokhele said they realised the general progress that has been done by the government and relevant entities in terms of issues around financial inclusion.

“Women, in general, are financially excluded,’’ he said.

“We are bringing to you a women-centric car solution that will be called All for Her Motor Insurance,” he said. He said this is a holistic lifetime support solution and a gift of safety and security to Basotho women.

He said the All for Her Motor Insurance is a comprehensive car insurance scheme that covers every aspect of insurance elements that include incidental loss and damage to vehicles, medical expenses as well as losses that happen due to third-party liabilities.

Ramokhele said the scheme will enable them to stay safe and supported against unforeseen events. Ramokhele said they have also partnered with Tracker Lesotho.

He said this insurance product had a theft benefit, where a stolen car can be tracked and located. He said there will be roadside assistance as well as medical assistance cover.

“This will ensure that when a client is stranded, we are just a call away and a click of a button away, and an app away to assist them,” he said.

“These services are accessible through their application, 24-hour call centre, or WhatsApp,” he said.

Ramokhele said there is also another detection benefit which detects every car under the cover if there is any impact. He said when there is an impact there will be signals which are sent straight to the tracker.

He said there is also the Car guard which guards the car everywhere. Ramokhele said there will also be a service that reminds the clients when their licenses or discs are about to expire.

He further said there will also be a feature that allows women clients to share their journey with anyone they want to share with. There is also zone management, which allows monitoring schedules.

Ramokhele said they have also organised defensive driving courses for their clients to ensure that as they drive they are able to navigate certain things that they might encounter in the road. He said the women clients will enjoy premium discounts every year to encourage them to take the course.

“We invite all Basotho to engage with us through our social media platforms on how as a nation we can all contribute to keeping women safe and making Lesotho a safer place to live in for everyone,” he said.
