In promotion and marketing of tourism in Leribe, Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation (LTDC) together with Alliance Insurance have on Thursday engaged in symbolic signing of Leribe Adoption District Content Creation Launch held at Alliance Insurance premises Hlotse in Leribe.
This is under ‘Re Bonts’e Lesotho’ Campaign implemented by LTDC.
Speaking at the event, LTDC Public Relations Officer Mr. Molapo Matela reminded that LTDC engaged in promoting ‘Re Bonts’e Lesotho’ campaign whereby they found the need for support from the business sector thus they approached Alliance Insurance.
He said Alliance Insurance adopted the initiative hence the launch.
At the same occasion, the LTDC Heads of Strategic Marketing Mr. Phomolo Lebotsa said the campaign came into picture after realizing the negative comments about Lesotho on social media and internet thus putting fear to tourists willing to visit.
Mr. Lebotsa elaborated that this was a hindrance to achieving best results within the tourism sector hence LTDC had to find ways of adhering to the best marketing strategies in promoting the country in tourism.
In accordance to the above mentioned he said LTDC engaged youth into the ‘Re Bonts’e Lesotho’ campaign, expected to provide any tourism information of one’s district, citing Sesotho food, clothes, traditional dances and games and tourism sites through content creation.
“LTDC sold the initiative to the business sector so they chose any district in the country to support financially in regard to the campaign,” he stated.
Talking about the youth, he said thus far they know the youth who are part of the competition in the country and they are going to be moulded into being best content creators.
Speaking at the same event Alliance Insurance Head Group Marketing and Communications Mrs. ‘Mareabetsoe Mabaleha said Alliance chose to invest in Leribe through ‘Re Bonts’e Lesotho ‘ campaign.
