MAKHOANA IN HOT WATER FOR AN ALLEDGED THEFT OF MAIZE MEAL, PEAS

Africa-Press – Lesotho. A 39-year-old man Selepe Makhoana from Maphutseng, is expected to be back in court on May, 20, charged with an alleged theft of 50 kg bag of maize meal and a 3 kg packet of peas belonging to Thaba-Phiri Primary school.

Evidence presented before the court shows that around September, 2023 the accused, unlawfully and intentionally with the intent to steal, broke into the school’s store room, and allegedly stole 50 kg bag of maize meal.

In October 27, the accused is reported to have committed a similar crime of allegedly stealing another 50 kg bag of maize meal and a 3kg packet of peas which both were later recovered, and the latter informed the court that it was wrong of him to take property belonging to the school.
