Africa-Press – Lesotho. Maseru Toyota gifted the Maseru Central Correctional Institution workers with heaters worth M6 300 on Friday. Maseru Toyota Dealer Principal Hasane Lelimo says they find great joy in helping when

the need arises. He says the dealership is fully owned by Basotho, hence it is always eager to help Basotho. Lelimo further notes that Toyota and Maseru

Central Correctional Institution are working on a project that will see inmates trained on car repairs. Maseru Central Correctional Institution Assistant Commissioner Lesaoana Matijane

commends Maseru Toyota for the contribution and asserts that it is going to be of great help to staff especially during this time of winter. Matijane says staff

members are faced with, “a huge challenge of coldness that also restrains them from executing their duties. Our staff needs to keep warm especially during this coronavirus era as we are told

spreads rapidly in winter. ” Matijane also emphasizes the need for inmates to be capacitated with skills such as formal or technical education, beyond the handicraft training programme that they already offer at the institution.
