Matlama Football Club (FC) “Tse Putsoa” have signed four new players to reinforce its squad for the upcoming Econet Premier League (EPL) 2020/2021 season.
while 7 other players parted ways with the club for various reasons.
According to Matlama FC Public Relations Officer (PRO) Tankiso Moletsane, the team has not yet get started the EPL pre-season trainings but with the new signed faces from the neighboring country – South Africa (SA) and from other existing football clubs in the country, this clearly indicates the green light that Tse Putsoa is getting ready to begin trainings that the team is scheduled to embark on from October 30th 2020 at Matlama FC training pitch, Pitso Ground.
Moletsane announced that the new faces which are expected to start the trainings with Matlama FC comprise of Thabo Matšoele (left winger) from Liphakoe , under a one year contract with Tse Putsoa, Mohau Ramonneng (Anchorman) signed a one year contract from Lioli FC, Lerotholi Zwane (Attacking midfielder) from Welkom SA, signed a two years contract and Teboho Peter (Striker) signed a 3 years contract from Machokha FC.
He also added that four of their players, Monaheng Ramalefane (Goal Keeper), Lisema Lebokollane (Defender), Thabo Matšoele and Jane Thabantšo (Midfielders) have been selected to represent the country in the senior national team, Likuena FC preliminary squad to play for the 2021 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Moletsane further noted that Matlama FC previously signed a 2 years contract with Mothobi Molebatsi from Swallows FC to help the Malawian head coach of Matlama FC – Charles Manda as an assistant coach who took up from Coach Mosito Matela and Coach Leloko Mofelehetsi, who parted ways with the team when their contracts expired.
“A total of seven players have parted ways with Matlama FC, the likes of goalkeeper Kananelo Makhooane who retired from professional football, Mabuti Potloane (Midfielder) transferred to Linare FC, Thapelo Tale (Striker) whose contract with the club ended, Lekhanya Lekhanya (Center Forward) terminated his contract, Lisela Holou and Nkesi Rankhasa (Defenders) reached their contract time limit while Reitumetse Linkoane (Midfielder) terminated his one year remaining contract with the club,” he enlightened.
Moletsane further indicated that he is hoping that the team will perform better when EPL games start as it is in good condition except for a mere challenge that players were out of practice for a longer period of time since the emergence of Coronavirus outbreak, he, however said the technical team is working out to restore and maintain their fitness.
