Africa-PressLesotho. Matlama FC has announced the termination of Coach Charles Manda’s contract for failing to fulfil his mandate. Manda was told to step down on Monday this week.

Matlama Social Media Manager Themba Talane told Informative Sport that the Matlama FC Management Committee has made a decision to terminate the contract of Manda as a Head Coach because he failed to fulfil

some contract agreements. Coach Manda started coaching in the second season of the Econet Premier League (EPL). “The role of the coach include; planning and supervising

training sessions to develop general fitness and specific soccer skills and plan tactics for games moreover they study the strength and weakness of opposing teams and consider the best way to approach each game,” Talane

informed. He stated that Matlama was one of the teams that played good football that every soccer follower could not miss to watch in the Vodacom Premier League (VPL).

Talane further argued that games are a major test of a coach`s abilities. “One of the reasons why Matlama released Coach Manda is the general poor performance of the team,

for instance when playing against Likhopo at Setsoto Stadium two weeks back, Matlama was dominating the game with everything but only managed to score 3 goals

in the first half; so that emphasises that Matlama’s well-known potential has deteriorated because we were expecting more goals in the second half of the

match but only 3 goals from the first half were scored,” he said. Matlama has recently suffered to consecutive losses in the Vodacom Premier League against LMPS (1-0) and Linare (2-0).

and that made Matlama to shift from number 2 on the league table to number 5. Talane made it clear that the termination process was done peacefully and that it was not motivated

by the two games they lost against Linare and LMPS. Matlama has also announced that Assistant coach Molebatsi Mothobi will be the acting head coach until the end of the season, assisted by Mokoena Mohale and Sello Seholoholo who are both former Matlama players.
