Africa-Press – Lesotho. Lesotho will be represented at the first ever Miss Culture International scheduled to be at the yet to be confirmed date at Harare Zimbabwe. Miss Mosele Morema will be carrying the country flag high in her quest to outsmart other similarly gifted young ladies in the world of modelling.
Yesterday she told Informative her experience is her best weapon to conquer The Miss Culture International title. The pageant will be clouded with natives’ diverse cultural attire and displays.
Morema will be sorely responsible for Basotho rich cultural innovative adventures. For Morema, this is not the first war to fight. She once participated at the Miss Freedom of the World at Prizren, Kosovo in August 2015.
She scooped the Miss National Health Training Centre Queen title 2014 and the Face of Mapholi Natural Spring Water first princess way back in 2012. Beauty Pageant Association of Lesotho (BPAL) is her organizing agency.
The agency will on Saturday be holding Miss Culture (Lesotho). The emerging Queen is expected to participate at Miss Culture International to follow next year.
BPAL secretary, Ms Palesa Ntsapo told Informative Miss Culture will be held at Hlotse Leribe on Saturday 29 2018. Seshoeshoe and lithethana dresses will be the order of the day.
Seshoeshoe is traditionally worn by Basotho women while thethana is worn by girls. She said 14 contestants drawn from various districts are vying for the Miss Culture Queen title.
They range between the ages of 16 and 25. Ntsapo said there will also be litolobonya play dance. Originally danced by women in a closet place, it is popularly known to be played by girls along organized celebrations and feastings.
This, she said, will be BPAL stake in the national Art, Innovation and Culture Week. While this will be the first ever of this magnitude, she said there used to be Miss Heritage for September as the Heritage Month.
