Africa-Press – Lesotho. The Lesotho Highlands Water Development Project (LHWP), through the ’Muela Hydropower Station, has trained community rehabilitation committee leaders to strengthen local leadership capacity and ensure organisations deliver on their mandate.

The two-day training targeted four rehabilitation committees from Boinyatso to Ha Molapo located in the ’Muela catchment area.

Presenter at the training from ‘Muela branch, Mrs. Phokoana Monokoane explained that the initiative was meant to equip both new and existing leaders with the necessary skills to drive environmental rehabilitation and community cooperation.

“The training focused on leadership qualities, conflict resolution and organisational management. We realised that new leaders often face challenges and need to be guided to avoid failures,” she said.
