Africa-Press – Lesotho. Mukuru has launched an outbound service which will allow Basotho to transfer money to their loved ones from Lesotho to other countries. Mukuru announced their outbound service on the 06th December 2021 enabling
customers to send money from Lesotho into 20 different countries across Africa and Asia. According to Mukuru Lesotho Country Manager ‘Maleseli Mohapinyane, the company has been
trusted by over 10 million customers for safe, convenient and reliable money transfer. “With Lesotho being such a geographically challenging country, we
have increased our network and widened our footprints from just one branch in 2020 to 39 pay in and pay out locations across Africa. In Lesotho we have two
branches in Maseru, 15 Mukuru orange booths across Lesotho and we have also partnered with 22 post offices locally,” she noted. She highlighted that even though there are about 48 post offices in Lesotho, only
22 are chosen, among those are the Sehonghong post office, Ketane post office
and Sehlabathebe post office. She said the intention is to afford hardworking people access to the best service in Lesotho. Mohapinyane said they have the in-house
technology for Mukuru accounts registration. “Our customers will now be able to sent money to South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, India and many other countries.
Mukuru has been in Lesotho for over 6 years now and we have been receiving funds from various countries, like Malawi, Zambia and even in the United Kingdom and the
European Union. Basotho can now go to the nearest branch or booth and get the service. We have partnered with M-pesa as their pay out service for us whereby
the recipient can withdraw money. We now have over 100 agents across the country, who can assist customers to register for Mukuru,” she said. Mukuru enables affordable, reliable financial services to over 10 million customers
with over 50 million cross border transactions over the last decade. It has been listed as one of the leading 150 cross border companies globally and has been in existence for 17 years.
