Africa-PressLesotho. Phano ea Bophelo owner and General Manager ‘Maphano Mohapi has upgraded from just being a make-up artist to being a manufacturer of beauty products through

launching her new beauty products range, Gifted. The new beauty products include foundation, pressed powder, eyebrow pencils, concealer, lipsticks, mascara and brushes.

Mohapi boasts eight years of experience in the beauty industry, as she started her journey as a professional make-up artist in 2014. She went to four makeup

schools to hone her skills and also hosted individual workshops for Phano ea Bophelo as part of her establishment. In an interview with Informative Arts&Lifestyle

she highlighted that she also teaches individuals how to apply makeup and provides makeup services for weddings, parties and social events. She indicated that she will later embark on eyeliners, eyelashes and glue.

Mohapi indicated that the name Gifted was derived from her name “Maphano”. She said the idea to manufacture beauty products is her childhood dream. “I have always

wanted to own my own beauty products range and the moment came I conducted research and spoke to people who would make the idea flawless,” she added. “The

lockdown was a great opportunity because that is when I conducted an intensive research and found ways to pursue my dream. My sources were able to tell me the

appropriate ingredients and though they were apart, we collaboratively came up with the packaging designs,” said Mohapi. She emphasised that the Gifted products have high quality, are organic and vegan free,

and therefore people will not develop any skin rashes from using them. She added that the product work perfectly on all skin types. She informed that the Covid-19 induced lockdown also played an imported role in

pushing her to make her dream a reality. “During the lockdown it was hard for people to find their perfect products for their skin types and that made me

realise that I can capitalize on that,” she stated. Mohapi insisted that the products are tailored specifically for African skin colour and texture. She

said now people do not need to cross the borders to find perfect, quality shades for their various skin types. “People are struggling now, no one wants to go

to Johannesburg to buy makeup, it is far and sometimes one does not find makeup that they need. I wanted something that I know could be available to me and I could use on almost everyone, every skin, meaning there are no allergic reactions in Gifted products,” she concluded.
