PM TO PARTICIPATE IN SADC CONSERVATION CONFERENCE

Africa-Press – Lesotho. The Prime Minister, Mr. Ntsokoane Matekane is expected to participate in the SADC Transfrontier Conservation Areas (TFCAs) Conference which is currently ongoing in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.

This high-level regional summit is being held under the theme ‘SADC Transfrontier Conservation Areas, 25 Years of Cooperation for Regional Integration and Sustainable Development’.

Lesotho is actively participating in the proceedings through a delegation of senior government officials who are contributing meaningfully to key discussions on environmental sustainability, regional tourism development, and community-based conservation strategies.

Their engagement reaffirms Lesotho’s commitment to sustainable development and regional integration through collaborative natural resource management.

The Prime Minister is expected to join the conference on Frida to take part in policy-level deliberations with fellow SADC leaders.

His participation will further demonstrate Lesotho’s dedication to strengthening cross-border conservation efforts, aligning national priorities with regional frameworks and ensuring that conservation initiatives improve the quality of life for communities who live closest to nature.

The forum brings together Heads of State, ministers, and conservation stakeholders to discuss how TFCAs can enhance biodiversity protection and deliver tangible socioeconomic benefits to rural communities across the SADC region.
