Africa-Press – Lesotho. A-Division clubs’ long financial drought will be a thing of the past thanks to Lesotho Postbank which came to their assistance pedging a whoopping 1,2 million in sponsorship. A-Division clubs have long been struggling to get sponsorships.
The bank and the Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) as the mother body governing football in the country engaged in a three-year renewable contract based on mutual target to increase football permance in the country.
Lesotho Postbank Managing Director Molefi Leqhaoe said they decided to give a helping hand to help A-Division teams with the amount of M1,2 million for three years adding they are likely going to increase the sponsorship thereafter.
He said the amount would be categorised in to three seasons, and in each season the bank will pledge with M400, 000. “As Lesotho Postbank we decided to lend a helping hand to A-Division teams in order to upgrade the development of football in the country,” Leqhaoe said.

He further said in the three years relationship, they are going to offer A-Division teams three things; “Financial Literacy where they will be paying tuition fees for players during their studies, Financial Inclusion where they will be engaging players in to business after football carrier and they are going to give the players Access to Credit in order to start their own businesses after football”.
