Africa-Press – Lesotho. Reedemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Lesotho donated food parcels to 200 needy families from different villages in Maseru through their sponsor African Mission in North America (AMNA).

The church was founded in 1952 Nigeria. It has been operating in Lesotho for 20 years and is found in 198 countries. In an interview with Informative Newspaper, RCCG Lesotho Pastor, Aurthur Ehireme Oamen clarified that

AMNA is a holy based organisation that has helped the church in building a christian school in Mafeteng district named Children of Glory Primary School.

He said AMNA has provided the food packages on behalf of RCCG and also donated 250 face masks to students at Children of Glory Primary School. Food parcels were given to people from the villages of Ha-Tikoe, Matukeng, Qoaling, Motimposo,

Rothe, Ha-Ramorakane, Mookoli and Masowe 2, targeting underprivileged families that struggle to put food on the table. Again, Pastor said the principal aim of RCCG

Lesotho is to assist in healing the broken-hearted people, stressing that they felt it would be of great significance if they help people who are badly

affected during this period of Coronavirus (COVID-19). “It has come to our realization that some families in the country are experiencing extreme poverty

due to the advent of Coronavirus pandemic. Our church reached a decision that through the help of AMNA, we should give food parcels to the poor families to allieviate poverty in Lesotho,”

he said. Moreover, Oamen revealed that they were propelled by the scripture, specifically Corithians 13:3-4, which qoutes, “And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor and

give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. Love suffers long and is kind, love does not envy, love does not parade itself, it is

not puffed up”. Also John 3:16. which states, “for God so loved the world that he gave His only begottten son, that whoever believes in him should not perish

but have everlasting life. ” A representative from Children of Glory Primary School Lyke Monyel expressed gratitude on behalf of the school board, management and staff, parents and students,

pointing that the food parcels will indeed be of great assistance to the students. Meanwhile, one of the recipients ‘Manthabiseng Makhutla from Ha-Tikoe commended the church

for showing mercy on them. She said she already had shortage of food in her home but with the help of RCCG, her problems have been solved. “I am really overjoyed as my life has changed through the food packages. I depend on my child who works in South Africa however due to the current pandemic she was retreched a few months ago,” she added.
