Africa-Press – Lesotho. A ray of hope is slowly shifting towards the local entertainment industry as veterans spare some time to groom our amateur stars. The same goes with infusion of culture within the industry, which most followers tend to connect with.
A determined young Singer and Songwriter Kopano Tilo famously known by his stage name Solenjah Nfana Mosotho is overwhelmed by his growth over a short period within the local music industry and credits his collaborations with entertainment legends.
Solenjah Nfana Mosotho started singing in 2016 and released his first song ‘‘Ain’t Rich’’ the same year. Of all the numerous songs he has released he mentioned that the hit single ‘‘Starring’’ where he featured Robocop, made its way up to the top soon after he added the name Nfana Mosotho to his name (Solenjah).
He noted; ‘‘I pray, this is me. ” Sing together, Roots and Leseli laka are his latest songs. He said ‘‘Roots’’ is one of the songs that brought him fame in the entertainment industry.
He said he started singing in English, but could not clearly express himself, then he shifted to Sesotho. “Since I changed to singing in Sesotho I saw a lot of progress in my music and that is when I gained a lot of popularity,’’ explained Tilo.
He continued that in 2019 he had his first biggest performance at Marabeng at an event that was hosted by Bofihla Neko (Lilaphapha) and Mavele where there was a huge crowd.
For him this marks the moment his name made it to the music records and he affirms that “rubbing shoulders with veterans” was the best choice. He further picked that as long as one has the support in the music industry the music stands to remain strong.
He said the music is business, thus needs consumers. “Therefore money is essential because it buys everything, such as beats, studio sessions, music videos and other materials needed in music,” he said.
Solenjah Nfana Mosotho also pointed that the best professional producers that suit their voices are limited and also money is required in order to get those best professional producers.
