Africa-Press – Lesotho. A Maputsoe man has open a case of arson against his ex-lover for allegedly setting his vehicle on fire last Sunday night. It is alleged that the man who lives in Corn-Exchange was on that day at home around 7pm with his wife and children when he suddenly heard popping sounds coming from his garage.
“At first I thought something had fallen onto the roof of the garage and before I knew, I heard voices coming from outside shouting that my car is burning,” the man said.
When he went in to his garage outside, he found his Volkswagen Golf on flames. Together with his neighbours, they managed to push the burning car out of the garage to keep it away from other nearby vehicles.
The man later told Public Eye that he suspected his ex-lover because a month earlier, she had attempted to torch his house. But questioned by police, the woman denied any involvement in both incidents. Maputsoe Police are therefore investigating a case of arson. “The victim said: “I know she is responsible, I am taking her to court.”
