Africa-Press – Lesotho. Seithati Koetje International Author and Deputy Director of the PLO Lumumba Foundation Lesotho Chapter 2021 Bothata Kennedy Silase won the Best Novelist award by Mulher Forte African Literature on Sunday.

Silase was nominated in the award category along with his other African counterparts including local writers Lineo Matlaka with her latest novel Tales of a Barren Women and Rethabile Shale under best publisher category.

Silase was again appointed for the Commonwealth writers’ competition following the release of his first novel The Recoil which became one of the bestselling and reviewed novels on international platforms.

In an interview with Informative Arts&Lifestyle Silase stated that only five books reached the final including his. He showed that the assessment was done by a panel of African Literatures.

He noted that since he started writing in 2019, he has already scooped two awards “an indication that I am on the right track. This awards inspire me to work even harder and I am therefore honored and satisfied that my artistic works are documented even by international organizations,” he added.

In addition, Silase implied that he is working hard to ensure that his legacy will forever be remembered even when he is no longer alive. He indicated that to make it as an author he follows trends of legends like R.

K Rowling and Professor Patrick Loch Otieno Lumumba who stimulate him to focus more on writing as a career not a hobby.
